Landlord’s Fees: If your property is a leasehold, we will need to give your landlord notice of the new mortgage once its completed. The notice of charge fee payable to the landlord varies between properties, and we won’t know the precise amount until we have seen your documents. Typically the fee is between £50 and £100 + 20% VAT, but on occasion it can be significantly more. We will update you on this cost at the earliest opportunity.
Additional Leasehold Legal Fee: We may also need to raise title enquiries with your landlord (depending on how much information you can give us). Landlords normally charge an administration fee for providing the information requested, and the amount varies depending on the type of enquiries made.

Timescale:
After the Court has served the claim, the debtor has 14 days to either file a defence or enter an acknowledgement.
After 14 days, if the debtor has not filed an acknowledgement or a defence (or after 28 days if an acknowledgment of service is filed) we will request the Court to enter default judgment.
The Court usually takes about 10 days to enter judgement following the receipt of a request to do so.
If the debtor files a defence to your claim we will work with you in order to progress your claim. This work will be at an additional cost and we will provide you with a costs estimate before proceeding.
Once judgment has been obtained, we may need to take enforcement proceedings to recover the sum awarded by the Court.
